Heavenly Wisdom for Earthly Living

The Epistle of James

James is a book that has created a good bit of controversy throughout the Christian church. Some consider James’ unhinged from the rest of the biblical canon; others think his teaching about faith and works contradicts Paul. But what we will discover on our short weekend journey, is that James’ letter could not be a more fitting piece of the Biblical narrative.

From Job to Jesus, James summarizes the Bible’s narrative on wisdom. Beginning in the theological classroom, James quickly pivots onto us, challenging and equipping us to walk by divine wisdom.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.” – James 1:5-6

Mr. Jeremy Vuolo

The youngest of three children, Jeremy was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Charles & Diana Vuolo. Two of the godliest people he has ever known, his mother and father raised him and his siblings faithfully in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Although he is uncertain as to the exact time of his conversion, Jeremy was saved from a life of hypocrisy and hidden sin during his childhood years.

Following his lifelong passion, Jeremy pursued a professional career as a soccer player, playing in Finland, New York, and Texas. However, just four years after signing professionally, the Lord called Jeremy out of sports and into the pastoral ministry.

He transitioned from soccer into serving as an interim-overseer of a church in Laredo, Texas in November 2014. Eight months later he was asked to accept a position as their full-time pastor, which he did in August of 2015. In June of 2019, Jeremy left the pastorate in Laredo to pursue full-time theological studies at The Master’s Seminary in Los Angeles, CA.

Jeremy and his wife Jinger were married in November 2016 and have a two year old daughter, Felicity, and are expecting a second daughter in November.
